12.1- Structure and Function of the Elbow

The Learning Objectives for this lesson are:

AP12.1.1 Given an illustration of the elbow joint, trainee will locate and label the following bones and landmarks with no errors:

  • Humerus
  • Radius
  • Ulna

 

AP12.1.2 Given an illustration of the elbow joint, trainee will locate and label the following joints; and identify the joint-type and the direction of movement available for each, with no errors:

  • Humeroulnar joint
  • Humeroradial joint
  • Proximal radioulnar joint

 

AP12.1.3 Trainee will recall the movements of the elbow in the sagittal plane, and will identify the names and locations of the main muscles that initiate each.
